Loena 7 (E-6 Series) (Russian: Луна-7) was an unmanned space mission of the Soviet Union Loena Program. The spacecraft intended to reach the moon through a soft landing. Unlike his predecessor, the Loena 6, Loena 7 successfully completed his mid-range correction on October 5th. During the moon surface approach, the spacecraft suddenly lost control. The Loena 7 crushed on the moon surface at 22:08:24 UTC on 7 October 1965 west of the crater Kepler, quite close to the actual intended purpose. It was the tenth consecutive failure in program E-6.
