Sakuma Nobumori


This is a Japanese name; the surname is {{{1}}}. Sakuma Nobumori (佐 久 間 信 盛, Sakuma Nobumori 1528-18 February 1582) was a Japanese samurai of the Sengoku period of Japanese history in the service of the Oda clan. It was also known as Dewa no Suke (出 羽 介) and as Uemon no Jo (右衛門 尉). Under the orders of Oda Nobunaga, Nobumori defended the Rokkaku clan in 1570. He was present in Nobunaga's long campaign against the Ikkō ikki warrior monks of the Hongan Temple, but because he could not come out with the victory, retired to a Buddhist temple in Kōyasan, where it died in 1582.
