Spain participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The public television channel Televisión Española (TVE) organized the national final Eurovision Objective 2017 to select the person in charge of representing the country at the eurofestival that will take place in the city of Kiev (Ukraine). Finally, Manel Navarro was chosen with its theme Do it for your lover to represent Spain in Eurovision.

Spain has participated intermittently since its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1961. In that first participation, it was in ninth position with the song Estando contigo by Conchita Bautista. He also has not obtained any point in three occasions: in 1962 and 1965 - with a different voting system - and in 1983, always tying with other countries. In the XXI century, the best result of Spain in Eurovision has been a sixth place in 2001, with David Civera and the theme Dile that I love it in Copenhagen. In recent years, Spain has always been in the lower half of the standings with the exceptions of 2012, when Pastora Soler returned the country back to the top 10 with its theme Quédate Conmigo; and in 2014, when Ruth Lorenzo's "Dancing in the Rain" got a tenth position - taking on points with Denmark in the ninth. Eurovision 2017 is the name of the competition that was used as preselection of the representative of Spain for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. It held its final in Madrid on February 11, 2017. One of the artists of this national final was chosen in a pre-selection round called Eurocasting. One of the participants in the national final was chosen through the Eurocasting elimination round. A period of presentation of the songs was opened from October 27 to November 27, 2016. At the end of this period, 392 songs were received.
