Avanade (/æv.əˌnɑːd/) is an international IT consultancy firm of Accenture and Microsoft that focuses on consulting services and software development for large companies working with Microsoft technology.
Headquartered in Seattle, the company has more than 80 locations in 20 different countries, with over 29,000 professionals and a $ 2 billion revenue in 2016.
Avanade provides IT consulting and services, focusing on the Microsoft platform through business analytics, enterprise applications, cloud, digital marketing and managed services. Avanade focuses on the top 500 companies in the Netherlands and the Fortune 500 worldwide.
HistoryAvanade was founded on April 4, 2000, as a joint venture of Accenture (former Andersen Consulting) and Microsoft. Initially, the company was divided between the two parent companies, with Accenture 51% holding the shares and Microsoft holding 49% of the shares. As of November 30, 2007, Accenture is Avanade's largest shareholder, with a share of 95%. Microsoft is in possession of the remaining shares. The companies form the Accenture-Avanade-Microsoft Alliance, combining Accenture's consulting expertise with Microsoft's cloud and mobile technology. The name "Avanade" is a combination of "avenue" and "promenade".

Avanade operates in more than 70 cities spread across North America, Europe, Asia, South America and the Pacific. The following locations include: India (IDC), China (CDC) and Philippines (PDC) Avanade Offshore Consultants located at Accenture. These "offshore" employees are 40% of the complete Avanade team.
