Ferrite Core

Not to be confused with ferrite. Ferrite core used in electronic cables.

In electronics, a ferrite core or ferrite filter is a type of device designed to filter "eddy" currents through an electric conductor.

Applications

The ferrite core acts as a high reactance induction filter. It is composed of iron, manganese and zinc, along with coatings. It offers great opposition to the external passage and propagation of certain frequencies of alternating currents that circulate through the cables, but not for direct or continuous (DC), allowing its flow throughout the cable and the rest of the electronic circuit. >
