Mexican Labor Party


Must not be confused with Labor Party (Mexico).

The Mexican Labor Party (in Spanish Partido Laborista Mexicano) existed from 1919 to 1940. The PLM was founded on December 29, 1919 in Mexico City on the initiative of Luis Napoleón Morones. Mexican Presidents Álvaro Obregón and Plutarco Elías Calles were members of this party. The rival political parties of the PLM were the Liberal Constitutionalist Party (PLC), the majority in the Mexican Congress, as well as the Mexican Communist Party, the National Agrarian Party (PN.A), the National Cooperative Party (PNC) and the National Anti-Party. re-electionist (PNA).
