In law, temperament is a legal term with many different definitions.

In the first place, the term temperament can mean the limitation, attenuation or relaxation of a law or norm. It is a less strict interpretation of a legal provision that is generally unworkable in practice because of its rigor and inflexibility. It is said that the disposition is temperate. Secondly, the temperament is the fact that a legal act will only be fully valid at the end of a period called a term or condition.
