The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) is one of 15 member research centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. Established in 1971, its mission is to help "600 million poor people overcome hunger, poverty and environmental degradation in the semi-arid tropics through more efficient agriculture."
