Association for Democracy Colima


The Association for Democracy Colima (ADC) is a Mexican political party in the state of Colima, thus being the only one of its kind in the state. The history of the political party dates back to the beginning of December 2001 with the formation of a group of citizens headed by Carlos Vázquez Oldenbourg. In July 2002, they made a formal request to the Electoral Institute of the State of Colima and in January 2003 they delivered the documents and declaration of principles required. On February 6, 2003, the IFE granted ADC approval as a political party. On June 6, 2003, they competed for the first time in the state elections of Colima in 2003, obtaining 6% of the total votes and obtaining a deputation for the congress and two regidurías, that of Villa de Álvarez and that of Tecomán. For the extraordinary elections of Colima of 2003 formed a coalition with the National Action Party and the Party of the Democratic Revolution in favor of Antonio Morales de la Peña. During the extraordinary state elections in Colima in 2005 he formed the coalition "Locho gives me confidence" with the National Action Party in favor of the candidate Leoncio Morán Sánchez.
