Athelstan poem

Aðalsteinsdrápa (from the Old Norse: Athelstan's praise) is a skaldic poem by the Viking Egill Skallagrímsson (c.1937) dedicated to Athelstan, King of England, and only one stanza in the saga of Egil Skallagrímson has survived. still question whether the authorship is legitimate or not, if it seems that the Old Norse epithet foldgnárr (conqueror, which does not appear in any other source), refers to the triumph of the Anglo-Saxon king in the context of the battle of Brunanburh. preserved in the Möðruvallabók compendium.
