Hardtrance is a genre that represents the heavier and faster side of trance. It is influenced by several harder styles and originates in German Frankfurt. Hardtrance was created shortly after the regular trance sound (Begin 90's). The genre originated when Rave and HI-NRG were combined.
Hardtrance often contains acidic sounds. The beat is relatively heavy and fast and there is less emphasis on melodies than with normal trance. Nevertheless, the original trance feel remains in the big breaks with long synths and spatial effects.
