A spinning wheel is a tool used in spinning. It is designed to fasten the frayed fibers, keeping them free of knots and facilitating the spinning process. It was commonly used to make flax, and sometimes wool, but could be used for any type of fiber. The fiber is wrapped around the spinning wheel, and is tied at the end with a piece of tape or string.
