Dr. Daniel Westin (David McCallum) and his wife Dr. Kate Westin work in a company called Klae Corporation in molecular disintegration experiments and find that the side effect produced during research is the invisibility of objects. Dr. Daniel then decides to experiment on animals in order to find medical applications for his discovery. However, his boss wants to use his achievements for war purposes, so the scientist decides to experiment on himself and destroy his invention.
