Caeculus

Caeculus is the son of the Roman god Vulcain. He would have founded the city of Préneste, in Lazio, east of Rome.

Two shepherds, the Depidii, have gathered the newborn. Having reached adulthood, during the ceremony preceding the foundation of the city, he invokes his father, Vulcan, who surrounds the audience of the ceremony with a circle of flames. On the injunction of his son, Vulcan extinguishes the flames and, before this prodigy, his son, Caeculus, is deified. Many peasants settle in Préneste, which he founded and is under his protection. change the code
