Geoffroi II of Provence


For the homonymous article, see Geoffroi de Provence. Geoffroy II, who died around 1065, was count of Provence from 1051 to his death. He was the son of Foulques Bertrand, Count of Provence, and Hildegarde Euzia.

In 1044, he is quoted with his father and his brother Guillaume V Bertrand in a donation in favor of the abbey of Saint-Victor de Marseille.

With his brother Guillaume Bertrand, he succeeded his father in 1051 and became Count of Provence in indivision with his uncle Geoffrey and his cousin Emma, ​​widow of Count William III of Toulouse.
