Port Qasim


The Port Qasim or Port Muhammad Bin Qasim (in Urdu: بندر گاہ محمد بن قاسم) is a deep-water port in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, on the Arabian Sea coast. It is the second busiest port in Pakistan, handling about 35% of the nation's cargo (17 million tonnes per year). Port Qasim and the port of Karachi, the country's busiest port, together handle over 90% of all Pakistani foreign trade. The port covers a total area of ​​12,000 acres (49 km2) in which many industrial zones operate. In addition to Steel Mills Pakistan (PSM) and Qasim Bin KESC power plant, about 80% of Pakistan's automotive industry is located in Qasim Port.
