Volker Banfield (1944) is a German pianist, the only German winner of the Berlin Jeunesse Musicales Competition in 1960.

Scholar by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Program) went to study the United States in 1965, first with Adele Marcus at the Juilliard School in New York and later with Leonard Shure at the University of Texas in Austin. >

He teaches piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and participates in numerous international jury contests.
