Cortes of Barcelona (1409)


The Catalan General Cortes of Barcelona in 1409 were convoked by King Martin I, and were the only ones held during the reign of King Martin, who died in 1410.

The obligation was established that the superior officers of justice of the Royal Hearing, would have to apply the Catalan Law, composed of the Usatges of Barcelona, ​​the Constitutions and Chapters of the Catalan Cortes, the municipal and customary law of the localities , common law, equity and good reason, and the application of irregular provisions of the King to the Law was forbidden.
