The Ripidion (from ancient Greek: άγιον ριπίδιον, hagion ripidion, "sacred fan") is a liturgical object belonging to the Eastern cult. Usually made of precious metals, it is fitted with a stick. An officiant shakes it like a fan during the celebration. It is also sometimes called hexapterygon (from ancient Greek: ἑξα-πτέρυγος, hexapterygos, "with six wings").
