FlorBase is a publicly accessible web of the flora database of Western Australia. Provides authoritative scientific information on 12,978 taxa, including descriptions, maps, images, conservation status and nomenclature details. There are also 1,272 exotic taxa (naturalized weeds). The system takes data from a number of sets, including the Census of Western Australia plants and the Australian Herbarium database showing about 650,000 plant collections. It was established in November 1998 by Alex Chapman, a research scientist and botanist at the Herbarium.
