Tua Pek Kongtempel van Sibu


Tua Pek Kong Temple of Sibu is a Taoist temple in the Malaysian city of Sibu. The temple is dedicated to the Taoist god Tua Pek Kong. The temple is a tourist attraction of the city. The oldest part of the temple was built in 1890 by Chinese Malaysians. In 1897 it was rebuilt in typical Chinese style.

In 1987 part of the temple was broken and replaced by a pagoda of seven floors high. This building is dedicated to the goddess of compassion. The pagoda cost RM1.5 million and on 4 May 1989 the pagoda was officially opened.
