Cecil Browning


Cecil Browning (Hampstead, January 29, 1883 - Westminster, March 23, 1953) was an English athlete who competed in racket testing for Great Britain.

Browning won the Olympic silver medal, won in the British edition, at the 1908 London Olympics. On this occasion, he was runner-up to the double with Edward Bury, after overcoming his compatriots Evan Noel and Henry Leaf, in the test conquered by the pair formed also the British John Jacob Astor (rackets) and Vane Pennell. That was the first and last edition of both sports in the Olympic Games.
