Fregate

Fregate Island (Île de Frégate), also called Frigate Island, is the westernmost of the Seychelles' Inner Islands (55 km east of Mahe). It is only 2.19 km² and is known, above all, as a luxury tourist destination, isolated and private.

This island is a privileged hotel, containing 16 rooms located in a coconut grove. Each room has 186 m 2 {\displaystyle m^{2}} and have been built with natural materials brought from Egypt, Thailand, Asia ...

His name is due to Lazare Picault who put it because of the abundance of frigates he observed on the island.

The highest point on the island is called Mount Signal with 125 meters.

The island is covered with takamakas, cashews, almond groves and the rare Seychelles blackbird, as well as some reintroduced giant Aldabra turtles. It also has the giant tenebrionid beetle that is endemic to Fregate Island. :
