Cépoe

Cépoe (Κῆπος, Κῆποι) also Cepos, was a city of the Cimerio Bosporus, founded as a colony of Miletus in the seventh century BC. C. and located on the north coast of the Black Sea. Pliny the Elder places it between Hermonasa and Estratoclía but its exact situation is not determined with certainty, although some scholars have identified it with Artyukhov, in Sennaya (Russia) where thousands of graves have been found. Near the place was erected a monument by the queen Comosaria del Bosporus, wife of King Perisades, dedicated to the deities Anerges and Astara.
