The Enabling Grids for E-science (EGEE) project, ie grid validation for e-Science, was designed by the Sixth Framework Program of the European Commission by Directorate F: Emerging Infrastructures and Technologies, Directorate-General for the Information Society and Media. This project links more than 70 institutions in 27 European countries to build a multidisciplinary grid in the field of European research.
