Quate Lots


Quate Locks, in the Valley of Arán.

Quate Lòcs is a traditional third of the Aran Valley, (Catalonia, Spain) used as a territorial constituency for the elections to the General Council of Aran. It corresponds to the municipalities of Bausen, Bossòst, Canejan and Les.

It was formed in the sixteenth century as a sestercio divided from the former third of Bossòst. Since the restoration of the traditional administrative structure of the Aran Valley of 1990, it elects 3 of the 13 councilors of the General Council of Aran

This small region is the northernmost part of Catalonia and the Spanish Pyrenees. The river basin of the Garona, main river of the region, is the only Catalan Atlantic slope. And of the few Spanish areas located in the north face of the Pyrenees.
