The Walter Art Museum is a private art collection of Prof. Ignaz Walter who found his accommodation in 2002 in a museum in the Bavarian city of Augsburg, Germany. Position

The collection is located in the Glaspalast Augsburg and contains the collection of Prof. Ignaz Walter, one of the largest German private art collectors. At 5,500m2 there are more than a thousand works of contemporary artists, including Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Jörg Immendorff, Max Ernst, Markus Lüpertz, A.R. Penck, Arnulf Rainer, Otto Geiss and Georg Baselitz).

The collection contains numerous old masters of the Leipziger Schule with (Bernhard Heisig, Werner Tübke, Wolfgang Mattheuer).
