Jon Bentley


Louis Jon Bentley (born February 20, 1953 in Long Beach, California) is a researcher in the field of computer science.

Bentley received a B.S in Mathematics from Stanford University in 1974, and M.S. and a Ph.D. in 1976 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, while studying, he also held internships at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. After receiving his doctorate, he joined the faculty at Carnegie-Mellon University as an assistant professor of computer science and mathematics. In this one, his students Brian Reid, John Ousterhout, Eppinger Jeff, Bloch Josue, and James Gosling, were the advisors of Charles Leiserson. Later, Bentley moved to Bell Labs. Bibliography
