Stefanía Fernández Krupij (4 September 1990, Merida, Venezuela) is a model, Miss Venezuela 2008 and Miss Universe 2009.
Her father, José Luis Fernández was born in Galicia (Spain), but emigrated to Venezuela. Her mother is Nadia Krupij Holojad, whose Ukrainian father emigrated from the Soviet Union during the period of communist rule. Fernández's father was abducted in the Venezuelan state of Barinas for five days in 2005. Miss Venezuela in Miss Universe
Fernández won the Miss Venezuela 2008 title in Caracas on September 10, 2008. She was crowned by the retiring titleholder, Dayana Mendoza, Miss Venezuela 2007 and Miss Universe 2008.
Dayana Mendoza could also crown her fellow Fernández as the new Miss Universe 2009 on August 23, 2009 in Nassau (Bahamas). It was the first time that the same country won the title in two consecutive years.
This victory was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records because it was the first time Miss Universe was crowned by a fellow countryman. Beauty titles
