Walter Lantz

Walter Lantz (New Rochelle, New York April 27, 1899 - Burbank, California, March 22, 1994) was an American cartoonist, who had his own animation studio. He produced mainly short humorous cartoon films including the first cartoon films in Technicolor.

He worked on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoons, and created, among others, Andy Panda, Chilly Willy (a penguin), Wally Walrus, the Beary Family, but his most famous minded child is the Woody Woodpecker, the hyperactive woodpecker, of which he was born in 1940 and 1972 released 198 short cartoon films.
