Diódoro Carrasco


Diódoro Humberto Carrasco Altamirano (Oaxaca, January 30, 1954) is a Mexican Politician of the National Action Party (PAN).

Carrasco studied economics at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and joined the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). In 1988 he was elected to Senators' Chamber, but in early 1992 he decided to be elected Governor of his homeland Oaxaca. From 1999 to 2000 he was Minister of Internal Affairs.

In 2006, Carrasco came in conflict with Roberto Madrazo, president of the PRI. After not being on the list he, together with Addy Joaquín Coldwell, went over to the PAN and then became a deputy.
