José Gabriel Sarasa


José Gabriel Sarasa Miquélez (Pamplona, ​​March 13, 1927 - id., 1987) was a lawyer and politician from Navarra (Spain).

He studied baccalaureate at the Marist Brothers of Pamplona and Law at the University of Zaragoza. He devoted himself to the practice of law, enrolled in the Bar Association of Pamplona and Madrid. He was Procurator in Cortes for the municipality of Pamplona (1970-1971) and president of the Parliamentary Council of Navarra.

He was a prominent member of the Traditionalist Communion until 1970, from 1964 to 1971 he was councilor for the family third in the municipality of Pamplona (deputy mayor between 1964 and 1967). After the death of Franco, he joined the Social Democratic Party of Navarre led by Jaime Ignacio del Burgo and was the representation in Navarra of the Social Democratic Party of Francisco Fernández Ordóñez, one of the parties that joined the initially Union coalition of the Democratic Center. In the general elections of 1977 and 1979 he was elected UCD senator for Navarre. After failing to get renewed his seat in 1982, after the disintegration of UCD, he joined the Popular Democratic Party.
