In 1875, the Balenyà-Tona-Seva railway station on the Barcelona-Puigcerdà line near these three locations was created. Around it emerged a population center that spread through the municipalities of Seva and Balenyá (mainly) and even those of Tona and Malla. In 1946 a parochial church was built under the patronage of San Miguel de los Santos. Despite the will of the neighbors to become an independent municipality, the entire urban nucleus was annexed to the municipality of Seva in 1996.

On August 5, 2014, Decree 117/2014 was approved, making it a decentralized municipal entity, achieving a certain level of autonomy.
