Location of the archipelago
The archipelago of Lucayas or the Bahamas is a group of islands comprising the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands (British Overseas Territory). They are located west of the North Atlantic Ocean north of the Antilles and east and southeast Florida (United States). According to a paper by William Keegan, the archipelago covers the territories of the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos, and added: "Political considerations aside, the islands form a single archipelago with geological, ecological and cultural characteristics in common." none of the nations are part of the Caribbean Sea, are considered islands of the West Indies, although they appear integrated within the Caribbean Islands by convenience.
