Llandegfan

Llandegan

Llandegfan (The Church of St. Tgfan in Welsh) is a village south of Anglesey, North Wales.

The original village Hen Llandegfan was situated on the ancient road from the cross of the Menai Strait on Porthaethwy via Pentraeth towards Beaumaris. The church of St. Tegfan, the mother church of Beaumaris, has been deeply restored.

Llandegfan has grown tremendously in the last decades and continues to expand significantly towards the fields of Mill Lodge and Lon Ganol. Practically all of its expansion is centered around the center of the modern village to the south and east of the old windmill. The town's growth is due to a number of factors including its proximity to Bangor (where many of Llandegfan's residents work), its proximity to the A55 and the excellent views from the village over the Snowdonia mountains. >
