Luis Boccardo

Luis Boccardo (Italian: Luigi Boccardo) (Moncallieri, Italy, 9 August 1861 - Turin, Italy, June 9, 1936) was an Italian Salesian priest, considered blessed by the Catholic Church. He was ordained a priest in 1883. In 1892 he founded two congregations, the "Sisters of Jesus King" and the "Poor Daughters of San Cayetano", both dedicated to the care and education of children of extreme poverty. He was noted for his love for Christ and for the Eucharist, and for his social support for abandoned childhood.

He was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007.
