Instituto Mittag-Leffler

The Mittag-Leffler Institute is a mathematical research institution located in Djursholm, a district of Stockholm. Invites researchers to participate in specialized programs for periods of six or twelve months. It is managed by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on behalf of research societies from all the Stacandinavian countries.

The main building of the institute was the original residence of Magnus Gustaf Mittag-Leffler, who donated it together with his library. Since the fortune of Mittag-Leffler after his death in 1927 proved insufficient to maintain the institute, it only began to operate effectively in 1969 under the leadership of Lennart Carleson.

The institute publishes magazines Acta Mathematica and Arkiv för matematik. Featured visitors

Garnett, Roger Heath-Brown, Sigurdur Helgason, Helge Holden, Harry Kesten, Donald Knuth, George Lusztig, Paul Malliavin, Benoit Mandelbrot, Lynn Steen, André Weil, Jean -Christophe Yoccoz and Günter M.
