A coastal zone or coastal zone (Inshore Traffic Zone, ITZ) is the area that is located between the coastline of a land and seagoing traffic separation system.
The zone for coastal traffic is reserved for smaller boats, sailboats and powerboats shorter than 20 meters. Larger should use the traffic separation system. The distinction in zones has been created in relation to the safety and prevention of collisions at sea.
