EPM-Bogotá is a company providing mixed public services in accordance with the provisions of Law 142 of 1994, whose regime of acts and contracts is private law. It is currently a subsidiary of UNE Telecomunicaciones. It was created in 1997 by Empresas Públicas de Medellín for the administration of 95 thousand telephone lines, in accordance with the joint venture that the parent company had signed with Itochu Corporation. Since its inception, the company has developed its competitiveness as follows: in talent, high performance and commitment of people within the framework of permanent innovation and creativity in their sales and marketing actions supported in the management of cutting-edge technology. In July 2011 the company has been absorbed by UNE Telecomunicaciones.
