Superfunk

Superfunk is a French house group from Marseille. The group consists of the three DJs, Fafa Monteco, Mike 303 (real name Hamdi Hassen) and Stéphane B (real name Stéphane Bonan). They were active around the year 2000. The most famous single of that album was Lucky Star, sung by Ron Carroll.

Superfunk was founded in 1998 by Stéphane Bonan, Fabrice Texier and Hamdi Hassen of Marseille. They released plates on their own Fiat luxury label. For example, they made the number New Jersey from Dealers of Funk in 1998. In 1998, they also started with the Superfunk project, for which some tracks were made. In 1999, she came to the attention of Virgin by the Come Back track, which is on the collection album Fiat Lux Racing Team 99. In collaboration with Virgin, they released Lucky Star in early 2000. This in collaboration with singer Ron Caroll. The song became a big success. The song became a number one hit in several countries, including France itself. Then the singles Young MC and Last dance appeared. All were featured in the debut album Hold up, which consisted of club-oriented French house with a lot of use of samples. After 2000, it became quiet for Superfunk. Fabrice Texier left to sound without noise.

The remaining members made a restart as Superfunk inc. together with Sasha Valmont as a new member. There was the singles Lover and The Promised Country in 2004 and an album was announced that Future Pop should have been called. However, this album has never appeared.
