Sarah Bear Elizabeth Wishnevsky (Hartford, Connecticut - September 22, 1971) is an American science fiction writer, writing as Elizabeth Bear.

Her first novel Hammered came out in January 2005 and was followed by Scardown in July and Worldwired in November of the same year. She received the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2005 and Hammered won the Locus Award for Best First Novel in 2006. She received the Hugo Award for the short story Tideline in 2008 and for the novel Shoggoths In Bloom in 2009. < / p>
