The General Education Act of 1970 consecrated the Body of High School Numerary Professors as the highest ranking student in secondary or secondary education in Spain. Later, LOGSE (1990) unified this and other bodies in the Secondary Teaching Corps, through a procedure that brought together in a same body Professors and Aggregates of Baccalaureate and Professors of Professional Formation, all with formation of licenciado but with very different social prestige. Since the body of Secondary Teachers grouped professionals of complement level of destination 24, and the professors were level 26, the law contemplated a personal "condition" of a professor who never satisfied anyone.
Later, LOCE (2002) and LOE (2006) recreated the body of Professors, in this case as "Teachers of Secondary Education". The LOMCE (2013), which modified the LOE, kept it.
