The Russian Antonov An-124 was one of the planes that participated. Air / Space America 88 was an air show and flight show held in San Diego, California, in May 1988. It was conceived as the American response to the Paris Air Show held annually in France. It was an event of colossal dimensions, being invited exhibitors from all over the world.

Among the participating aircraft are several Concorde contributed by British Airways and several Antonov An-124, the then basic pillar of Russian aviation. In addition, other planes like the Boeing YC-14 also participated. On the other hand, among the airlines that made the exhibitions stand out the USAF Thunderbirds.

However, the fair was a financial failure and, although it was thought to be biennial, it was never held again.
