Amnesty aphorism

An amnesty or verbal aphasia is a form of aphorism. It is a language disorder (fat disorder) involving a word and name disorder. A patient understands what is said to him and is also largely capable of expressing, as opposed to sensory and motor aphasia, respectively. As a result, a minimum disorder in a normal conversation can not be observed, but will come to light when a patient is asked to name a number of objects or pictured persons.

An amnesty aphasia occurs in patients with a temporo-occipital brain injury, for example by bleeding or infarction. Sometimes it appears as a residual phenomenon of motor aphasia. Also in patients with Alzheimer's disease there may be an amnesty aphorism.
