Sketch

A sketch is a short comic performance with one or more actors. Often there are several sketches in a row. The sketch can be played in the scene, but also in a different environment.

The English word 'sketch' literally means 'sketch', but is used in Dutch only to indicate the comic pieces.

In the Netherlands, in particular, André van Duin, Farce Majeure, Van Kooten and The Bee, Pisa, Jiskefet, New Animal, Wire Steel, Tower C, and Radio Spikes with heads are known for their sketches. In Belgium, Gaston and Leo, Jacques Vermeire, TV-Touché, Buiten De Zone, Bart Peeters and Hugo Matthysen and the Neveneffects are well-known makers of sketches. Famous foreign television programs that consist of a collection of sketches include Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Fast Show, Little Britain and Chappelle's Show. Also the duo Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis did a lot of sketches. Also see
