Luis Correa Mena


Luis Humberto Correa Mena is a Mexican politician, a member of the National Action Party, has been mayor of Mérida, Yucatán.

Luis Correa Mena is the son of the historic leader of Panamanian Yucatan and also municipal president of Mérida in the late 1960s Victor Correa Rachó, began in political activities always being close to Carlos Castillo Peraza, was elected as the second the municipal president of the state of Mérida in 1993 and in 1995 was a candidate for governor of Yucatan against Victor Cervera Pacheco, the official results gave the victory to Cervera by a difference of around 20 000 votes, but Correa always alleged a fraud. p>

In 1998 and before an internal conflict resigned its militancy in the PAN. During the following years he served in various positions within the private sector, and later returned to the National Action Party some years later. In 2006 he was state coordinator of the precampaña of Santiago Creel to the presidency. Later, in that same year was pre-candidate to governor by the National Action Party, next to Ana Rosa Payán and Xavier Abreu Sierra, being the latter winner.
