Innsbrucker Platz

Innsbrucker Platz

The Innsbrucker Platz is a square in Berlin's Schöneberg district and forms the border between the Schöneberg and Friedenau districts. The square crosses the Wexstraße and the Hauptstraße (formerly Reichsstraße 1, which became Bundesstraße 1 later). To the east lies the Anschlussstelle 17 (east lights) of the Stadtautobahn 100 and in the west Anschlussstelle 17 (westlich) from the Wexstraße is on the square. The Station Innsbrucker Platz with the S-Bahl lines S41, S42 and S46 is also located here. Below the square is the terminal of the U4 metro line.

The square was constructed in 1910 in connection with the construction of the Berlin subway. The metro then ended at the intersection of Innsbrucker Straße, the Hauptstraße and the Ringbahn. In 1927 the square was named after the Austrian city of Innsbruck. grades
