Networks (Revueltas)


Redes is a work by Silvestre Revueltas composed in 1935.

This is a movie music. Initially, Silvestre Revueltas worked for a documentary directed by Paul Strand, entitled Pescados (Pisces). Finally, the project turned into a fiction film directed by Fred Zinnemann and Emilio Gómez Muriel, with Paul Strand in the photograph.

The final film describes the life of the fishermen of Alvarado in the state of Veracruz, and bears the title of Redes (Filets).

In 1943, Austrian conductor Erich Kleiber, exiled in Mexico, made a sequel based on the music of the film. This suite is played live. Movementsedit code
