Astruc Rimoc

Astruc Rimoc God, Remoc, Raimoc or Remoch, later Francisco Días Corni or Francisco Dios Flesh, poet and Jewish doctor of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries born in Fraga.

As an Orthodox Jew, he visited Benveniste ibn Labi of Zaragoza and other prominent Jews.

He maintained his religion during the pogrom of 1391, but in 1414 he renounced his religion and converted to Christianity, taking the name of Francisco Días-Corni. From that moment he dedicated himself to trying to convert Jews, for which he sent a controversial circular epistle inviting other Jews to follow his example. Among the people he tried to convert was his friend En-Shealtiel Bonfos, probably son of Isaac Bonfos ben Shealtiel of Falces. Bibliography
