Yarim Tappeh

Yarim Tappeh or Yarim Tepe is an archaeological site located nine kilometers southeast of Gonbad or 3 km northwest of Dargaz or Daregaz, in Iráq.

Its high central core, shaped like an oval, is 80 meters long and 30 meters wide. In this mound remains of the halaf culture of the Hassuna culture periods (Neolithic, 6000-5000 BC) and El Obeid, between 7000 and 4500 BC have been found. C. Some objects found here are reminiscent of those of Turang Tappeh, both being a manifestation of the "Gorgan culture" that emerged northeast of the Iranian plateau and east of the Caspian Sea. The end of this occupation happened in the III millennium a. C. possibly as a result of the invasion of oriental tribes. The hassuna culture is especially relevant in this tell, with high quality ceramics in which simple decorative motifs such as spikes or triangles are appreciated. Notes
